Since 2010, our team has empowered female members of FIRST teams all across the region with our annual off-season competition. GirlP.O.W.E.R. (Preparing Outstanding Women Engineers through Robotics) separates itself from other competitions by requiring all teams run with all female driveteams. All notable leadership roles at the event are performed by women. This ensures that the women of FIRST are provided with a safe space to learn, grow, and exhibit their full capabilities. By shining a spotlight on female members so early in the robotics season, we encourage conversation about the inequalities we face in this male-dominated field.
